Perparim Kapllani is an Albanian Canadian author who easily writes in English and Albanian. His novel, The Last Will, which explores the tragic history of the Çamëria genocide, was published by IOWI in 2013. In addition, he released a collection of short stories, Beyond the Edge, in 2010, and his play, Queen Teuta of Illyria, was published in English in 2008 and later in Albanian in 2014. His 2018 novel, The Thin Line, published by Mawenzi House, further showcases his diverse narrative talents.
Kapllani’s writing has been featured in several anthologies, including Canadian Voices, The Literary Connection, and The Courtneypark Connection. He has also authored four books in Albanian.
An accomplished journalist, Kapllani has contributed extensively to various publications, including Ushtria, the Albanian Army Newspaper, Shekulli, and Spekter magazine. He graduated as an Anti-Aircraft Gun Artillery Officer from the University of Scanderbeg in 1990 and holds a teaching degree in Literature and Albanian Language from Tirana University.
Since moving to Toronto in 2000, Kapllani has continued to share his unique voice and cultural perspectives through his writing.
